My own pain kept me form seeing and appreciating the gifts God was placing in my life. I refused to accept the hand of a God i blamed for all my problems, but the problem was humanity not God.

This is a fictional short story from the perspective of a tree watching over a family for generations.,

We all have weeds in our lives, some take deep roots like our pain, and our habits and our hurts. We spend so much time fighting those weeds that we forget to water the flowers in our life.

I wrote this thinking about the experiences that have shaped my life and the role anger or fire has had on my life. In the fiction there are truths of my life sewn between. the lines are there as a parallels to my life in many ways.

If you have ever felt disconnected form your self, and your higher power i want you to know you aren't alone. The chains of our past are deeply rooted and it takes a miracle to find the strength to not only ask for help, but to stand up and grab the key God offers you.
